Our conservation work covers tree care, protection of rare flowers and herbs, guidance from the state on the reintroduction of elk and other native endangered animals, fire protection and safety management, regenerative farming, and pasture management. Here’s how we’re making a difference.
Tree care & preservation
Recognizing the crucial importance of trees in sustaining our ecosystem, we’ve established a thorough tree care initiative — routine inspections, pruning, and disease control. Our trained team works to safeguard indigenous tree species, and through strategic planting and sustainable forestry techniques, we nurture a robust and diverse forest canopy for future generations.
Protection of rare flowers & herbs
Southern Oregon is home to a diverse array of rare and unique plant life. We prioritize protecting these species against habitat destruction and overharvesting, and have instituted specific conservation zones where they can flourish undisturbed. Guests are welcome to responsibly explore these areas.
Guidance from the state on endangered animals
Working closely with state wildlife authorities, we enact strategies to reduce human-wildlife conflict and advance conservation for elk and other native species — habitat restoration, wildlife monitoring, and honoring natural behaviors to promote coexistence between humans and animals.
Shuttle service for deeper exploration
To enrich guests’ connection with nature, we provide shuttle access to managed forest regions adjacent to the property — guided expeditions or self-guided hikes led by seasoned naturalists through untouched wilderness areas.
Fire protection & safety management
Given the region’s susceptibility to wildfire, we maintain rigorous fire protection practices — regular vegetation clearing, fire breaks, and strict adherence to campfire and outdoor cooking regulations. Staff are trained in fire safety protocols, and we keep open lines of communication with local fire authorities.
Regenerative farming & pasture management
Rotational grazing, cover cropping, and organic farming methods support soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience — an integrated system of livestock and crops that revitalizes agricultural land while reducing environmental impact.
Community engagement & education
Conservation is collaborative. Through educational workshops, guided nature walks, and interactive exhibits, we work to raise awareness of biodiversity and resource stewardship — nurturing a deeper bond between guests and the land.
