The Sunset Picnic Society

A Woodland Picnic for Women Winemakers

The Sunset Picnic Society is a deliberately intimate woodland picnic, created exclusively for women winemakers. Set within the forest at T7GR, the experience unfolds across a series of understated picnic clearings, each positioned to feel natural, unforced, and quietly held by the landscape.

Each clearing is hosted by a woman winemaker, pouring a single featured wine—most often a white, rosé, or sparkling selection—chosen for its elegance and sense of place. Rather than formal tastings, the emphasis is on presence and conversation. Wines are offered slowly, with space to listen, taste, and linger. Featured wines are also available through the on-site wine shop for those who wish to continue the relationship beyond the evening.

Guests move freely between picnic settings, guided not by schedule but by curiosity. Each winemaker selects a flower to accompany her space, introducing a subtle botanical note that complements the wine without competing for attention. Guests may gather blooms as they move through the forest, allowing the experience to build gently, moment by moment.

As the walk concludes, guests are welcomed into the outdoor studio, where the pace softens further. Flower pressing and simple floral composition are offered as quiet, hands-on practices—opportunities to work with the materials gathered and to create something enduring from the evening. The act is unhurried, tactile, and reflective.

Music remains intentionally restrained: soft, elegant, and atmospheric, present enough to shape the mood without ever becoming the focus. The forest itself sets the tone.

An Overnight Experience, Unrushed

The Garden Party transitions naturally from afternoon light into evening—through golden hour, fireside conversation, and the long settling of night. Participating winemakers are invited to remain on property overnight, allowing the gathering to resolve gently rather than conclude abruptly.

Without the mechanics of departure, conversations continue in a quieter register. What emerges is not networking, but familiarity; not programming, but shared time. The overnight format creates space for trust, reflection, and the kind of connection that cannot be scheduled.

Participation & Sales, Thoughtfully Structured

There is no participation or site fee for wineries. Each winemaker hosts a single picnic setting and pours one featured wine. Wines may be offered for sale through the T7GR wine shop, with all transactions managed by T7GR and proceeds distributed according to pre-established terms.

A portion of ticket revenue is reinvested directly into the purchase of wines from participating wineries or their authorized distributors—ensuring that support for winery partners is tangible, considered, and direct.

Setting & Standards

The Garden Party is hosted at T7GR, a fully state-permitted overnight glamping property, operated in compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements. Hospitality and experience design align with best practices through collaboration with the Court of Master Sommeliers and WXO (Wine Experience Organization).

Reservations and guest access are managed through OpenTable, offering a familiar, discreet, and hospitality-forward entry point to the experience.

Why This Gathering Exists

The Garden Party is an alternative to scale, noise, and performance.

It privileges restraint, intention, and care.

It is an invitation to gather as women—to share wine, flowers, and time—within a setting that allows craft and conversation to breathe. Luxury here is not declared. It is felt.
